Chuck, 2026
Leather purse, strap, brass nails
Installation only by artist
Price: eternity
Wedding Purse takes apart an object once made to be carried and fixes it permanently in place.
A worn leather purse is separated into three elements. Each is secured directly to the wall with three oversized gold nails. What was functional becomes an installation; what once held possessions becomes something that cannot be taken with you.
The work considers marriage, possession, permanence and the promises we make about time.
The purse bears its own history—worn leather, unfinished edges, punctures, stitching and evidence of use remain visible. Nothing is restored or disguised.
Installation is performed only by the artist.
The work is not offered at a monetary price.
Price: eternity.
